Understanding Cyber for the Board Room: Current Trends in Risk Assessment and Governance

As companies quickly respond to digital transformation, cyber security risks rise. High-profile cyber breaches are existential threats to reputation and shareholder returns. Board members and corporate officers will gain an understanding of how to determine the holistic, unique, and evolving risks an enterprise faces, along with the organizational and cultural challenges of cyber risk and its mitigation, the governance and regulatory requirements, and practical ideas on how to create a cyber risk management plan to include a cyber incident response. 

Format

Mix of interactive presentations, invited speakers, and case studies.

Topic Areas

This course provides an opportunity to work with your peers as you engage in a dialogue on understanding the cybersecurity threat landscape. The program will help participants learn to recognize risk factors, understand best practices for organizing a cybersecurity risk program, and help them prepare cyber breach response and recovery planning, as well as organizing to address supply chain and 3rd party risk exposure. The class also will allow participants to learn about governance, regulation and compliance obligations, insurance fact vs. fiction, international and privacy trends, and Internet of Things cybersecurity implications.
