Bringing it All Together: Putting an Integrated Security Plan in Place for your Event

Utilizing cutting-edge technology and gaming tactics, this capstone course will lead participants through an interactive simulation of an event situation. Capitalizing on Virginia Tech's Integrate Security Education and Research Center, participants will work with cybersecurity, analytics and technology experts to plan, execute and evaluate a simulated integrated security event as it happens. The capstone will focus on the role of each team member in minimizing risk, protecting client safety and ensuring the security of event goers as well as mitigating liability to the event professional and their business.

Target Audience

Mid- to senior-level meeting and event professionals seeking to understand the specific aspects of integrated security, cybersecurity, data management, and privacy so that they can better support and direct their internal or external partners in maintaining the security of their data, their clients and their events. This course is specifically geared towards arming event professionals with the tools they need to ask the right questions, understand their responsibilities and serve their clients better.
