Gaffar is a Managing Director at First Financial Group (FFG), a comprehensive financial planning firm based out of the Washington DC area. He is dedicated to developing personalized planning strategies for his clients who are individuals, families, and businesses. He specializes in working with legal and medical professionals and owners of IT and government contracting businesses. His team at FFG is comprised of individuals who specialize in asset protection, wealth management, business strategies, 401k plans and group benefits. Additionally, Gaffar plays an integral role in the growth and development of the Bethesda and Reston offices of FFG.
Gaffar is one of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Greater Washington DC’s 2020 Four Under Forty Award Recipients, which recognizes four outstanding financial professionals who have gone ‘above and beyond in their lives and careers so far’. The award is based on success in practice, education, NAIFA and other industry involvement, and community impact.
Gaffar Chowdhury grew up in Alexandria, VA and has lived in the DC metro area for over 30 years. He graduated from Virginia Tech with his degree in Business Economics and received his graduate Executive Certification in Financial Planning from Georgetown University.
When Gaffar is out of the office, he enjoys working out, trying new restaurants and being out on the water. Along with serving on the Pamplin Society as the Chair of the Signature Event, he currently serves on the leadership board of NAIFA-Greater Washington and the Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP) - National Capital Chapter. Gaffar currently lives in the Southwest Wharf neighborhood of Washington DC.
