Pamplin Society

Pamplin Society Overview

The Pamplin Society is a council of volunteers established for the purpose of promoting, supporting, and improving the Pamplin College of Business. Pamplin Society members participate in a variety of initiatives and projects, including financial support, student enrichment, engagement by and with the business community, and other tasks that aid Pamplin in achieving its goals of excellence in education, research, and engagement.

The Pamplin Society’s mission is to engage alumni and provide a vehicle for Pamplin alumni to give back to Virginia Tech and its business school in more ways than just a monetary commitment. Specifically, the Pamplin Society works on special projects at the request of the Dean and the Pamplin Advisory Council that will have a real impact on the school of business and its current students and alumni. In addition, the Pamplin Society hosts various networking and themed events during the year to get Pamplin alumni connected.

Commitment

Pamplin Society members dedicate time to engagement projects throughout the year and invest in a giving expectation of $250 each year.

Bolstering employee engagement in a hybrid environment was a central discussion theme. The leaders stressed the importance of listening to employees above else to meet them “where they are” to deliver effective engagement programing and a work model that supports their unique personal and professional needs. Companies that keep employees at the center of their operations will have the upper hand in recruiting in a highly competitive market.
