Robert H. Digges Professor

Dipankar Chakravarti, professor of marketing, was named the Robert H. Digges Professor in Entrepreneurial Studies. The endowed professorship was established in 2015 with a gift from Robert H. Digges Jr. ’59 to recognize outstanding scholars in the field of entrepreneurial studies at Virginia Tech. Chakravarti joined Virginia Tech in 2015 and was the founding director of Pamplin’s Ph.D. concentration in executive business research. His research focuses on the cognitive processes underlying consumer and managerial decision-making.

Thomas M. Wells and Kathy Dargo Professor

John Maher, professor and head of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems, was named the Thomas M. Wells and Kathy Dargo Professor in Accounting and Information Systems. The endowed professorship was established in 2017 to support teaching and research excellence in the Pamplin College of Business. Maher joined Virginia Tech in 1985. His recent research examines the effects of real earning management on credit markets and IPO pricing.

Kathleen Grega Digges Professor

David Brinberg, professor of marketing, was named the Kathleen Grega Digges Professor in Entrepreneurial Studies. Brinberg joined Virginia Tech in 1993 and is an expert in the fields of social marketing, research methodology, decision making, and health communication. Robert H. Digges Jr. provided a gift in 2015 to establish the endowment in memory of his wife, to recognize outstanding scholars in the field of entrepreneurial studies at Virginia Tech.

Konrad W. Kubin Senior Faculty Fellow

LINDA WALLACE, an associate professor of accounting and information systems (ACIS), was named the Konrad W. Kubin Senior Faculty Fellow. The endowment was established by alumni and friends of Konrad W. Kubin, a faculty member in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems from 1972 to 2003, to recognize teaching and research excellence. Wallace joined Virginia Tech in 1999. Her research focuses on online communities, fitness technologies, software project risk, and crowdfunding.

Digges Family Professor

Steven E. Markham, a professor of management, was named the Digges Family Professor in Entrepreneurial Leadership. Markham joined Virginia Tech in 1978. He is an accomplished scholar in the areas of leadership, organization visualization, absenteeism, organizational change, analytics, and multilevel research methodology. The Digges Family Professorship was established in 2016 to recognize top scholars in the field of entrepreneurship at Virginia Tech.
