Why did you pick your major and what’s your dream job?
I decided to major in Business Information Technology because I knew I would learn many transferable skills that would set me up for success in my career. I chose to specialize in Cybersecurity because from taking different courses at Tech I grew a liking for data analytics and cloud security. My dream job is to be a consultant for the Washington Wizards.
What advice do you have for Pamplin students?
My advice to Pamplin students is to join a wide variety of clubs (academic, social, cultural, and/or recreational). Joining several different types of organizations is important as it allows students to become well-rounded. Additionally, interacting with other like-minded individuals will help students form beneficial relationships that will encourage growth and diversify interests.
What is your favorite part about being a peer advisor?
- As an advisor I have had the ability to become more knowledgeable about undergraduate degree requirements, courses, and resources that are available which has helped me tremendously. It has also allowed me to form long-lasting relationships with other fellow Hokies. However, the most rewarding aspect of being an advisor is sharing the knowledge I have acquired with other students so they can succeed socially, academically, and professionally.
