Why did you pick your major and what’s your dream job?
I actually came in as an ACIS student and I transferred into BIT in Spring 2021. I mention that because I want to express how picking your major can be a growing experience where you really start to understand your interests and what you see yourself doing beyond college! Now, I understand that I enjoy the modeling and problem-solving aspects of BIT along with the technical knowledge from our amazing professors. I am still doing my own career searching, but I hope to involve both my technical and creative sides in my dream job.
What advice do you have for Pamplin students?
Network and ask questions. It is true that the people you know can get you places. We have an amazing alumni network and the professors, faculty, and even your peers are all so willing to help you find your success! Asking questions is always a way to get yourself a seat at the table. Starting a conversation and getting yourself out there is one of the best things you can do as a college student.
Where have you interned, what did you do, and how was your experience?
I have interned at Ernst and Young (EY) for two summers now. I received an offer the summer after Freshman year and gained a return offer for this Summer 2021. I was a Launch intern, where I rotated through different service lines to get a taste of different engagements, in order to understand what each service line does. My experience was amazing and full of a bunch of networking, learning, and inspiring speakers! Being a Launch Intern has been a great safe space to explore and truly find a place that feels right to me!
