Lorraine Borny

Lorraine is responsible for advising a portion of the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Pamplin College of Business. She also oversees the Pamplin Peer Advising Program, works closely with the Management Department, and is the liaison to Career and Professional Development.


Originally from New Jersey, Lorraine moved to Blacksburg in 1992 where she raised three boys. She earned a Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services from Glassboro State College in NJ (now Rowan University). For about 15 years her work involved helping injured workers and disabled veterans re-join the workforce. She joined the Management Department in 2004 where she coordinated their Internship Program, taught various courses and served as academic and career advisor. She also led a Study Abroad program to Paris. She joined Pamplin Undergraduate Programs in January 2015.

Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys cooking, reading business and other non-fiction books, day hikes in the area, traveling (mostly to visit family), and church and volunteer activities.
