Accounting and Information Systems

Blackwood Department of Real Estate
- Interdisciplinary curriculum combining real estate with finance, law, property management, and other related fields.

Business Information Technology
The Business Information Technology Department seeks to educate the next generation of data analysts, IT and cybersecurity professionals, and operations and supply chain managers. Our graduates help solve managerial and societal problems by using data and technology for enhanced decision-making. We engage with industry to keep our curriculum cutting edge and provide students with experiential learning opportunities that contribute to the profession and the community. We conduct transformative impactful research that is published in the profession’s top journals, improves the human condition and advances economic prosperity.
Finance, Insurance, and Business Law
The Department of Finance, Insurance, and Business Law has a long-term commitment to research excellence among its faculty, including renowned experiential education for its students and doctoral students. Ongoing research activity enables the department to continuously upgrade course content to make it contemporary and relevant to modern business needs. Our faculty members stay informed of current trends and the latest research in the financial world and publish their research in top-tier finance journals.
Howard Feiertag Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management
The HTM undergraduate program is unique in that it is located within the Pamplin College of Business, an AACSB-accredited and nationally ranked business school. Our students are immersed in “the Business of Hospitality and Tourism,” gaining core skills in finance, accounting, marketing, strategy, international business, revenue management, information technology and digital media. We prepare our students to become thoughtful, creative leaders in the industry by providing a caring and inspiring learning environment. We are very proud to say that our graduate placement rate is among the highest on campus!
Management
Led by award winning research faculty and supported by highly experienced business practitioners, the Management Department is a leader in management thought and its business applications. Our faculty teach and do research in the fields of strategy, entrepreneurship, leadership, organizational behavior, human resources management, technology management, business analytics, international business, ethics and social issues, and diversity management. The department prepares students for careers in the world’s most successful organizations. Our doctoral program produces graduates who will be among the next generation of research faculty at top academic institutions.
Marketing
The Department of Marketing focuses on knowledge creation, knowledge dissemination, faculty- and student-led projects beyond the boundaries of the university to enhance marketing theory and practice. Our efforts in research, teaching, and outreach integrate conceptual and analytic tools to contribute to solving complex social and economic problems to enhance the consumer quality of life, health, and welfare.
