Crystal C. Jefferson is a 2003 graduate of Virginia Tech, with BS degrees in both Marketing and Management. Since 2003, Crystal has worked in business development, sales and university advancement for the Pepsi Bottling Group, Virginia State University and Virginia Tech. In 2012, Crystal earned a Master of Arts degree in Media Management from Virginia State University with a cumulative grade point average of a 4.0. In addition, Crystal obtained a Certificate in Fund Raising Management in 2011 through Indiana University – Purdue University – Indianapolis (IUPUI) Center of Philanthropy.

Currently, Crystal is the Director of Engagement for the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech. In this role, she oversees alumni engagement and relationship management with Pamplin’s advisory boards and leads and supports activities related to planning, execution and communication of internal and external events to promote the college’s strategic goals.

Crystal brings considerable experience in higher education advancement, having most recently served as Director of Development for Inclusion and Diversity at Virginia Tech. In this role, she served as the major gifts officer for the Office of Inclusion and Diversity’s fundraising efforts and was responsible for developing a comprehensive strategic plan to outline goals and strategies to accomplish the office's fundraising goals. In her tenure, she raised just over $2 million dollars in current and deferred gifts for Virginia Tech’s areas of greatest need, which included student scholarships.

Crystal credits her desire to work in Development to her experience as a student at Virginia Tech. While an undergraduate, Crystal worked as a Student Caller in the Virginia Tech Student Calling Center. Her firsthand experience and interactions with Virginia Tech alumni inspired her to pursue a career in Higher Education Development.

Crystal currently resides in Moseley, VA with her Hokie husband, Travis, and daughter, Carter.
