Jenn Tortora

Responsibilities

Jenn Carty, Associate Director of Career Services and Employer Relations, will advise Pamplin’s undergraduate students in their career planning and job search activities and assist employers in their recruitment of Pamplin students.

Biography

Jenn is a Salem, VA native. Growing up within close proximity to Virginia Tech, she knew at a very young age she wanted to be a Hokie! She received her Bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management from Virginia Tech in 2005.

Jenn spent the majority of her career in recruitment roles in the DC Metro area. Prior to coming to Virginia Tech, Jenn was the East Coast recruiting lead for Greystar, a real estate management firm, where she was responsible for implementing a college recruitment program on the east coast. She attended Pamplin career events, including Business Horizons, to recruit students to her organization. Meeting college students in this setting confirmed for Jenn that she wanted to move her career into higher education where she could work directly with students on achieving their career goals and connecting them to opportunities. She is extremely thrilled to be carrying this out at her alma mater!

Jenn currently resides in Roanoke, VA. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and watching football! GO HOKIES!
