As an Assistant Director of Advising, Kelley is responsible for advising a portion of the undergraduate students in the Pamplin College of Business, supervising a team of four Academic Advisors, and providing support to the Director of Advising. She works closely with the Pamplin IT team to develop and support technology solutions for advising and also is the liaison to the university Cultural and Community Centers.
After a childhood spent in Florida, the West Indies, coastal Alabama, and far North Queensland Australia, Kelley traded the beach for the mountains and landed in upstate South Carolina where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Furman University.
Upon discovering that there were jobs that combined her love of helping others, the college setting, and working with students, she decided to pursue a career in higher education. Prior to arriving at Virginia Tech in 2014, she worked at Furman University, the University of Vermont, and Appalachian State University.
Outside of work, Kelley enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, traveling, and Netflix binging.
