Jennifer Riley

Director, Office of Graduate & Executive Education

Jennifer Riley serves as the Executive Director of the Office of Graduate & Executive Education (OGEE) in the Pamplin College of Business, where she leads Pamplin College of Business’s graduate programs career development and employer partnerships, marketing, and the college’s expanding Executive Education portfolio. She also serves as Program Director for the Master of Science in Business Administration–Business Analytics (MSBA-BA), building on a strong legacy of student success and industry engagement.

A Virginia Tech alumna, Riley holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management and an MBA. Her career spans startups, regional critical infrastructure, large global organizations, and academic leadership, giving her a uniquely multidimensional perspective on developing leaders who can navigate complex, data-rich environments.

Riley began her career in communications and marketing management across environmental responsibility, high-security manufacturing, biotech, and compliance management software. She later shifted her focus to leadership effectiveness, serving as Carilion Clinic’s inaugural Senior Director of the Institute for Leadership Effectiveness. Under her leadership, the institute earned national recognition from the National Center for Healthcare Leadership. She also founded a successful executive coaching and strategy consulting firm and designed the first group coaching program for Amazon Worldwide Operations.

Recognized for integrating business analytics with human-centered leadership development, Riley is advancing Pamplin’s graduate and executive education strategy with emphasis on innovation, industry alignment, and applied learning. Her work includes launching university–industry partnerships, developing non-degree executive programs, and supporting mission-driven custom engagements for organizations across Virginia and beyond.

She is a contributing author of Proving the Value of Leadership Development: Real Studies from Top Leadership Developers, documenting the ROI of the leadership development methodology she created. Riley continues to coach and advise leaders in government, nonprofit, and private-sector organizations, experience that informs her commitment to preparing learners for the evolving demands of the modern workforce.
