Responsibilities

Nathan serves as the director of development, leading the fundraising and stewardship operation within Pamplin, and working with many of Pamplin’s top donors.  Nathan has shared responsibility for the college’s fundraising success, including major gifts, leadership gifts, annual giving, and helping Hokies leave an impact through their estate plans as well. He joined Pamplin in August of 2022. 

Education

Nathan holds a bachelor of science in public relations from Northwest Missouri State University and earned a masters of science in college student personnel from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Background

An intergenerational native of Missouri with ancestral roots in the Shenandoah Valley, Nathan relocated to Virginia in 2021.  Prior to joining Pamplin and Virginia Tech, he served as senior director of major gifts for Penn State’s Smeal College of Business, associate director of development for the Schreyer Honors College, and distinguished giving director for the American Cancer Society.  Aside from working in philanthropy, he’s most passionate about Caroline and Jack (children) and his wife, Jen.
