Incoming First-Year Students

  • Applications for the 2025-2026 Academic Year are closed.
  • Applications for the 2026-2027 Academic Year will open in early 2026.

New Hokies are eligible to apply for Living-Learning Communities once an incoming student has accepted their offer of admission from Virginia Tech and paid the matriculation fee. At that time, a housing contract will be made available to eligible students where students can apply for up to three living-learning communities.

Currently Enrolled Students

  • Applications for the 2025-2026 Academic Year are closed.

Current Virginia Tech students are eligible to apply to join Innovate Living-Learning Community for the 2026-2027 Academic Year will open during the Fall semester.

Innovate is a one-year program, current Innovators will need to re-apply if they wish to live in Innovate again. Students registered to live in Innovate will have the opportunity to apply to be a Wing Mentor during the Spring Semester.

Transfer Students

Unfortunately, Innovate does not accept students transferring from other colleges and universities but are eligible for Transfer Experience Living-Learning Community.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, you will both need to be enrolled in the same Living-Learning Program as each other to be roommates. 

Take your time on your application, answer all the questions, and write from the heart. Event attendance and participation is considered for Innovators hoping to return for a subsequent year.
