Current Scholarships
Before reviewing the Scholarship, please read the following eligibility requirements. All Pamplin students must:
- If you are applying for a need-based scholarship, have a current FAFSA on file (with valid signatures) before submitting an online application. Applications with “incomplete” FAFSAs will not be considered. FAFSA information is available on the University Scholarships and Financial Aid website (International students will not submit a FAFSA). Instead, see the FAQ’s for directions to complete an EFC (Expected Family Contribution form).
- Consider the following:
a. Scholarship Criteria: Compare your qualifications with the criteria listed for each individual scholarship, and then select only the scholarships for which you meet the requirements. Although students may apply for multiple scholarships, it is uncommon to receive more than one award.
b. Scholarship Type: All scholarships are awarded to the top candidates that meet the respective criteria (ie. merit, preferences, need-based, etc.). Note that scholarships marked “need-based/FAFSA required” will be awarded ONLY to those students with documented financial-need, as determined by results of the FAFSA (or EFC calculator for International students).
c. Student Class Level: To properly award scholarships, class level is not determined by credits, but by an estimated expected date of completion. If you plan to graduate in:
December 2019, May 2020, or Summer 2020 = “rising sophomore”
December 2018, May 2019, or Summer 2019 = “rising junior”
December 2017, May 2018, or Summer 2018 =“rising senior”
*The chart above still applies to scholarships that do not state the word “rising”, followed by sophomore, junior, or senior. - Prepare a general resume and one unique essay per scholarship after reviewing the Scholarship List. Individual essays are limited to one page each (Maximum file size-250k). Each essay must support why you are qualified to receive that particular scholarship.
- Submit an online Scholarship Application by the deadline (varies by scholarship).
