Responsibilities

As the Director of Academic Advising, Katie oversees advising services and daily operations of the advising team in Pamplin Undergraduate Programs. She also works closely with Pamplin’s Career Services and International Programs teams, as well as other offices and departments across campus.

Biography

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise and her master’s degree in Health Promotion from Virginia Tech. Advising student athletes during her graduate studies, she realized she loved working with students on a daily basis and wanted to pursue a career in academic advising. After working briefly in advising at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., she was able to return to Blacksburg with her husband Andrew, a former VT baseball player. She and Andrew have three daughters - Landry, Sullivan, and Sloane.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cheering on the Hokies, and vacationing in Nags Head, N.C.
