Clayton Metz

Clayton Metz serves as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business, where he leads the college's marketing and communications strategy to strengthen its visibility and advance its strategic priorities. He works closely with college leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and university partners to tell the stories that showcase Pamplin's people, programs, and impact.

Before joining Pamplin, Metz spent nearly eight years with Virginia Tech's Fralin Biomedical Research Institute, where he led marketing and communications initiatives that elevated the visibility of faculty research and supported institutional priorities. Earlier in his career, he held communications and creative leadership roles at James Madison University, the University of Central Florida, and Radford University.

Metz earned a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech and a bachelor's degree in media studies from Radford University.

A Roanoke native, Metz lives in Botetourt County with his wife, Bre, and their four children.
