    Kevin Carlson has been appointed associate dean for research and faculty affairs in the Pamplin College of Business. Carlson will work with Dean Robert Sumichrast, department heads, and other administrators in the college to enhance the effectiveness of its faculty.

    Devi R. Gnyawali appointed management department head , redirect

    Devi R. Gnyawali has been appointed head of the Department of Management in the Pamplin College of Business. Gnyawali, who was appointed the R.B. Pamplin Professor of Management in 2011, joined Virginia Tech as an assistant professor in 1997. He was promoted to associate professor with tenure in 2003 and to professor in 2010. He specializes in teaching and research on strategic management, entrepreneurship, and technology management.

    MIT Maintains No. 2 Ranking for 2017 , article

    Virginia Tech’s online master of information technology degree program once again earned a No. 2 ranking in U.S. News & World Report’s 2017 Top Online Education rankings. The program — a partnership between Pamplin and the College of Engineering — has maintained a No. 2 ranking for four years in a row, behind the University of Southern California. The program has been highly ranked every year since U.S. News debuted the Top Online Rankings in 2012.
