Speakers

Christina Daves is a publicity strategist, lifestyle expert, and award-winning podcast host who helps businesses and individuals move from Established to Known® through her Get PR Famous® formula. A bestselling author, speaker and on-air expert, she also hosts a monthly television segment about her podcast, Living Ageless and Bold, and appears frequently on morning television and in print media. Together with her clients they have over 1 billion views and over $100 million in sales from free publicity.

Christina has served on the Marketing Advisory Board for 10 years, is a member of the Pamplin Advisory Council, and guest lectures in business classes.

Cori Carraway graduated from Pamplin in 2002 with a degree in Marketing Management. Following her graduation, Cori was selected as one of six people nationwide to join the Marketing Development Program at Verizon in Dallas, Texas. During the program, she gained holistic marketing experience through rotations in product marketing, acquisition marketing, customer relationship management, retention marketing, and call center operations. While living in Dallas, Cori received her MBA in Business, Management, Marketing, and Strategy from Southern Methodist University. 

After dedicating 15 years to Verizon, Cori started working with Frontpoint Security as Director of Product Marketing in 2018. There, she oversaw the marketing department end-to-end. In 2020, Cori then transitioned to working in Product Marketing at McAfee. Presently based in Alexandria, VA, Cori is the Head of Global Mobile Marketing at McAfee, primarily focused on growth and retention efforts for McAfee’s mobile app.

Kim Shanahan is the CEO and Co-Founder of accelHRate, a leading retained executive search firm. With over 600 executive searches and 10,000 executive interviews, she offers a unique perspective on leadership careers and key decision-making.

Before co-founding accelHRate in 2014, she spent eight years at Korn Ferry International, holding multiple leadership roles, including Senior Partner/Managing Director. She has worked closely with boards and CEOs across industries, geographies, and company types navigating growth and change.

Earlier in her career, she led Wireless Corporate Strategy and Business Development at MCI, managed executive recruiting, and worked at Heidrick & Struggles, focusing on Board, CEO, CMO, and CFO searches. She also spent time in management consulting with DFI International.

Ms. Shanahan is a General Partner at Lunch Pail Ventures and serves on multiple Virginia Tech Advisory Boards, including the Pamplin College of Business (PAC) and APEX Center for Entrepreneurs as Chair. She co-chairs the Lunch Pail Defense Foundation and has been featured in Fortune, Chief Executive Magazine, The Washington Post, and The CEO Show. Named one of Washingtonian’s 100 Tech Titans, she holds a B.S. in finance and communications from Virginia Tech, where she was the 2021 Business School Commencement Speaker.


Sean Collins is the Interim Executive Director of the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs. Previously, he was Managing Director of the Startup Hokies program, overseeing new venture initiatives for student-led startups at Virginia Tech.

Before joining Virginia Tech, Sean was VP of Product Development at Viqtory, where he developed digital solutions for workforce development. He is active with venture funds and has taught entrepreneurship to diverse audiences.

A nationally recognized expert on renewable labor markets, his work has been cited in major publications like The Wall Street Journal and Fortune. Sean holds a B.A. in Economics from VMI and an MBA from Virginia Tech. A former U.S. Navy pilot and veteran of multiple operations, he now enjoys outdoor adventures with his family.

Rebecca Salazar is a driven professional with a dual Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology and Marketing from Virginia Tech, reflecting her passion for technology and creative vision. While balancing a full-time academic workload, she explored her identity and the energy she wanted to bring to the world. Her internships at EY shaped her career, leading to a full-time role in Technology Risk Assurance, where she continues to grow.

Navigating the workforce as a woman, Rebecca has embraced her authentic self, finding confidence in her femininity and individuality. In the two years since graduation, she has taken on leadership roles, mastering technical skills, building strong networks, and contributing meaningfully to her team. She believes success comes from balancing self-care, boundaries, and ambition.

Passionate about empowering others, especially women, Rebecca is committed to personal growth and mentoring those on similar journeys, continuing to make an impact in her career and beyond.


Daciay Quenah  – Associate Producer, Good Ear Music Supervision

Daciay is a proud 2011 Hokie with over 14 years of advertising and creative strategy experience at companies including Belk, MetLife, Ally, and Credit Karma. She’s always had a deep admiration for the magic created when visuals meet the perfect song which inspired her to pursue music supervision as a career. She’s sharpened her musical chops through vocal performance & the obsessive consumption of all genres of music. Currently at Good Ear Music Supervision, her love of the craft has grown while working on ads for brands such as Pinterest, Google, Amazon, Genesis, and Expedia.


Wendy Glass isn’t just an HR executive, coach, and facilitator—she’s a talent architect. With two decades of experience, she helps organizations execute strategy more effectively and achieve goals faster through impactful talent programs and leadership development.

As the founder of Ignite Leadership + HR Consulting Group in Christiansburg, Wendy ignites a passion for leadership in others. She also shapes future leaders as an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business.

Before launching Ignite in 2022, Wendy spent 16 years in Corporate America, including a decade as an executive leader with a Fortune 500 company, overseeing people strategy across multi-state healthcare systems. Her experience makes her a trusted advisor, and her energy and passion help leaders at all levels create thriving workplaces.

Beyond large corporations, Wendy understands the challenges of small- to mid-sized businesses, government, and nonprofits, using proven methods to enhance workplace culture, boost engagement, and retain top talent.

Dr. Blum is the author of two books, Annapurna: A Woman’s Place and Breaking Trail: A Climbing Life, and is considered by the UK Guardian as one of the “World’s 100 Most Inspiring Women.”
