Reunion 2022 Highlights
Pamplin Hokies from near and far came together on the Blacksburg campus for reunion on June 9-12, 2022. Here are some highlights from the weekend.
Data and Decision Sciences Building hard hat tour
Equipped with hard hats and safety vests and glasses, attendees enjoyed a tour of the Data and Decision Sciences Building, the first academic building under construction in the Global Business and Analytics Complex. Participants got an insider’s view into the construction and even got to see Hokie Stone being installed on the building’s exterior.
Women in Business Roundtable
Virginia Tech alumni and panelists Carrie Barker, co-founder Girl Supply and Girl Tribe Co. (Architecture ’07); Ashley Morrison, director of engagement, IRONCLAD, and cheerleader, Washington Commanders (Hospitality and Tourism Management ’16); and Corrine Woods, senior project manager, Modea (Hospitality and Tourism Management ’05) joined moderator Donna Wertalik, marketing professor of practice, for an engaging discussion on empowering women in the workplace and beyond.
The women shared their non-traditional career trajectories and encouraged attendees to tap into what motivates them and use that motivation as a guiding star in their personal and professional lives. The panelists also stressed the importance of carving out space to invest in yourself, and in this hybrid world, need to establish boundaries between the home and “the office.”
