Owen Ryan

Owen Ryan is a partner in Deloitte & Touche LLP, Chief Executive Officer of Advisory and the Global Business Leader for the Risk Advisory practice. Ryan is a member of the U.S. Executive Committee of Deloitte LLP, a member of the Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) Executive Committee, and a board member of the France member firm.

He has more than 30 years of diversified professional services experience advising financial institutions, with a strong focus on the insurance industry. Ryan has an extensive background in strategic consulting, auditing, tax, corporate finance, the capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and practice management.

His international experience includes two years living in France and serving clients in more than 25 countries, primarily in Europe and Asia. In addition to his client service engagements, Ryan has held a wide range of senior leadership roles within the Deloitte network including a role on the DTTL Global Board of Directors. He was a member of the DTTL global audit leadership team, and has served as the U.S. Regulatory & Capital Markets Consulting leader, the DTTL actuarial leader, DTTL managing partner for the insurance group, and the US financial services M&A leader.

Ryan has written and lectured extensively on M&A and risk issues, and co-authored the textbook Insurance Industry Mergers & Acquisitions on behalf of the Society of Actuaries. He also periodically lectures on topics such as brand, reputation, and leadership. Ryan currently sits on the Board of Directors for College Summit and his alma mater, New Jersey City University.
