Every organization, however large or small, is at risk of a cyberattack. Cybercriminals and nation states continuously work to steal data that is collected about customers and business partners and dismantle data infrastructures within organizations. When these data breaches occur, they are expensive to repair and cost companies the relationships they have built with their employees, partners, and clients who trust these organizations to keep their information private and secure. On a larger scale, cyber insecurity threatens our national security.

The continued risk of cyberattacks has led to a high demand for cybersecurity professionals who can bridge the gap between cybersecurity and business management. The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech offers the following undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare students for careers in multiple cybersecurity roles.

Undergraduate Programs

Cybersecurity Management and Analytics (BIT-Cyber) Major

The BIT-Cyber major focuses on the use of business analytics and metrics to protect organizations from cyberthreats. We teach students how to make secure and ethical decisions about data use, keeping IT systems secure, and protecting businesses and their customers from cyber harm.
