Parking Quick Guide (Interview Candidates and New hires)
This quick guide will explain in detail how to secure a parking pass for an interview candidate as well as how to secure a parking pass for a new employee
If I have an interview candidate(s) that needs a parking pass, what do I do?
- Contact the Business Center and they will provide you with a parking pass that you can mail to the candidate(s) in advance of the interview, or you can meet the candidate with the parking pass on the day of the interview or prior to the interview. If applicable we suggest mailing the parking pass to the candidate several days prior to the on-site visit.
- The university has several printable electronic maps that are available for you to send to your interviewee prior to the interview. This will help your interview candidate understand the location of the interview and how to find parking. The maps can be found at on the Parking Service Site
I have a new employee starting work on XXXXX and I need to know how they can secure a 30-day free parking pass before the first day of employment?
- The new employee can visit this link any time prior to the 1st day of work to secure the 30-day free parking pass. https://virginiatech.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal It is very likely that the new employee will need a copy of their offer letter to upload into the electronic system.
- The new employee will need to make sure that they have setup a PID and Password before they have the ability to log into the parking system. If for some reason the PID and Password have not been setup, or they are not yet showing in the parking database, the new employee can contact parking@vt.edu for assistance.
How does my new employee receive their permanent parking pass?
- Virginia Tech has several options for employees to select parking options. Hourly, daily, semester, yearly. It is up to the employee which option they select.
- When the employee attends orientation they will cover the options and instructions regarding how to secure permanent parking.
