Pamplin College of Business’ Rising Star award for 2016 was presented to Kristy Laughlin on Tuesday Sept. 13, 2016, at the seventh annual Women in Business event hosted by Tracy Castle-Newman of  Morgan Stanley in New York City. View the Women in Business NYC 2016 Event photos.

Kristy works for Deloitte in Washington D.C as an Advisory Manager. She graduated with a bachelor of science in ACIS in 2008, and a Master in Information Systems degree in 2009, from the Pamplin College of Business.

She has continued to give back to the college by being involved as chairman of the ACIS Emerging Leaders board, and as an ex-officio member of the Pamplin Recent Alumni Board.  She is frequently on campus recruiting for Deloitte, and she has been involved with multiple classroom teaching programs with ACIS.

As an Advisory Manager with Deloitte, Kristy leads complex and important projects for clients.  Her services are aligned to Deloitte’s Advisory business, which focuses on helping clients to manage various forms of risk. She is also regularly involved in Deloitte’s WIN initiative, which focuses on advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace (with an emphasis on women).  She also mentors younger female professionals, to help them achieve greater success.
