The Inaugural Atlanta Pamplin Women in Business event sponsored by Coca-Cola was held Thursday, November 3 at Coca-Cola Headquarters. Over 70 women ranging from students, alumni, faculty, keynote speakers, and Virginia Tech administrators attended the event.

“Power, Passion, and Purpose,” was the theme of the evening.  Vice Provost for Inclusion and Diversity and Vice President for Strategic Affairs, Dr. Menah Pratt-Clarke, and Latina Media Dynamo and Women’s Empowerment Advocate, Nely Galán, gave the keynote speeches at the event.  Dr. Pratt-Clarke focused on telling her personal story to allow others to learn from her dynamic journey in education and women’s studies, while Galán spoke about leadership and how to live a rich life as a woman. While Dr. Pratt-Clarke and Gálan have very different backgrounds, their stories   complemented each other and fostered a sense of strength, curiosity, and empowerment in the room.

The evening began and concluded with networking to encourage making new connections, as well as photo opportunities with Galán and Dr. Pratt-Clarke following their talks.

Earlier that day, Coca-Cola provided an opportunity for several Pamplin students and a Pamplin administrator to attend the Women’s Food Service Forum Leadership Development Workshop from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
