    In the days leading up to Giving Day 2025, teams across Virginia Tech’s colleges anxiously checked their weather apps. The region had been experiencing severe winter storms, even forcing the university to close for two days. As the event approached, forecasts remained uncertain, predicting anywhere from one to four inches of snow and bitterly cold temperatures. Pamplin’s Giving Day team cautiously made contingency plans—just in case—and hoped for the best. Fortunately, by noon on February 19, the official start of the event, a light overnight dusting was the only obstacle, and in below 20 degree temperatures Giving Day 2025 (our coldest ever) was officially a go.
