Megan McDanald
My name is Megan McDanald, and I am a senior majoring in Hospitality Tourism Management with a minor in Professional Sales. I have dedicated my senior year to rebuilding the International Hospitality Honor Society, Eta Sigma Delta, as well as serving on the executive team for the Hospitality Management Association.
As President of Eta Sigma Delta, I have recruited over 30 new members and successfullyplanned an induction ceremony in December. I work towards building our organization’s network through creating professional relationships with industry professionals. I am excited to work with the hospitality faculty, students, and advisory board members, including Mr. Mark Maloney again for our second ceremony in April!
As Director of Tourism for the Hospitality Management Association, I plan two networking trips for the academic school year. In the Fall, I coordinated lodging and food accommodations for 20 students as well as scheduled tours at the Ritz Carlton, Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, Charlotte Convention Center, The Fillmore, and Carowinds. I am in the process of finalizing the second trip of the year in April!
I also work on campus in the Event Services Office, where I create reservations for student organizations and university departments.
My passion for the hospitality industry began when I was 8 years old and aboard the Disney Cruise. Through being involved in various organizations throughout my college career and interning with Hilton in West Palm Beach this past summer, I have followed my dreams and accepted a job in Human Resources at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista Palace - DisneySprings upon graduation!
