Howard Feiertag, namesake of the Howard Feiertag Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and current instructor within the department, was invited to speak at a recent training seminar held for members of The Greenbrier's sales staff. The session – which was arranged by Greg Furlong, vice president of sales for The Greenbrier and alumnus of the Feiertag HTM – was held at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va., and included ten regional sales directors of The Greenbrier whose responsibilities include developing group markets for the property from various regions of the country.

Feiertag met with the sales directors and conducted a roundtable session whereby everyone in attendance had the opportunity to participate in discussions involving a variety of subjects. Discussions included topics such as: “How to Make a Connection Without Being Annoying,” “How to Get Closure On a ‘Deal’,” “Networking in a Digital Age,” “Best Opportunities for Prospecting for New Business,” “’Working’ a Trade Show,” and “Measuring Productivity”.

The Greenbrier, a luxury resort located near White Sulphur Springs in Greenbrier County, W. Va., features over 700 guest rooms, 20 restaurants and lounges, a casino, and has hosted 26 United States presidents. The resort also hosts an annual PGA Tour event, The Greenbrier Open.
