Jim Hatch ’72 received the Philanthropy Award for his continued support of the Pamplin College of Business. Hatch is no stranger to being honored by Pamplin, as he received the Alumni Distinguished Service Award during the University’s commencement ceremony in 2018. In 2010, he received Pamplin’s Distinguished Alumnus Award, which honors alumni for outstanding career accomplishments and contributions to the college.

The Pamplin Society was re-activated in 2016 to enhance alumni engagement via a focus on recognizing alumni contributions. A major initiative of the Pamplin Society is the alumni awards program. As Pamplin has a long-standing tradition of honoring its outstanding alumni, the society will capitalize on this custom in the growing alumni awards program. The leadership team conducted research, created award criteria and the nomination process, and recommended the award winners.

A special thanks to the entire Pamplin Society for their work this year. Special thanks go to the members of the awards committee, including Phil Moore, chair; Debbie Flippo; Zaneta Purvis; Tommy Amal; Alex Rabung; and Kelly Pickerel.
