Pamplin honors its 2023 Graduates with Distinction

The Pamplin College of Business recently paid tribute to its 2023 Graduates with Distinction. These honors included the Outstanding Pamplin Senior Award, H. H. Mitchell Outstanding Leadership Award, College Service Award, as well as the recipients of the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key.

Riley John Brooks, a student in the Department of Finance, Insurance, and Business Law, was the recipient of the 2023 H. H. Mitchell Outstanding Leadership Award. The recipient of the H. H. Mitchell Outstanding Leadership Award exhibits leadership and service within the university and the broader community.

The College Service Award goes to a student who has a minimum GPA of 3.4 and focuses on service in Pamplin programs. Yasine Bensouda, a BIT-Cyber and Management double major, was the recipient of the 2023 award.

The 2023 honoree for the Outstanding Pamplin Senior Award was Justin Tyler Smith, a Business Information Technology and Management double major. The Outstanding Pamplin Senior Award goes to a student who exhibits leadership skills, is dedicated to extra-curricular activities and community service, achieves extraordinary grades, and is a well-rounded, accomplished individual.

Since 1912, Delta Sigma Pi has awarded a Scholarship Key to the graduating student with the highest cumulative academic average in business administration or economics. The Scholarship Key is funded by Delta Sigma Pi’s Leadership Foundation. For 2023, Pamplin had six students with a perfect 4.0 GPA. They are: Sharon Sunook Ahn, Business Information Technology; Jake Michael Alley, Finance and Management; Karla Michelle Iturri, Marketing and Management; Conor Jude Lepore, Business Information Technology; Jack Robbins, Finance; and Sapna Seth, Marketing and Management.

Pamplin’s Students of Distinction fosters Virginia Tech’s goal to demonstrate continued appreciation for the outstanding achievements of students. Congratulations to all award recipients!
