    Five Pamplin College of Business alumni were recently honored at the 2022 Pamplin Awards banquet. Deborah Golden (FIN ’94) accepted the Ut Prosim (That I May Serve) Award, while Mary McVay (ACCT ’78, MBA ’81) was honored with the Philanthropy Award. Eddie Hearp (business administration ’66, MBA ’66) received the Mentoring Award, and three alumni, Negar Jamshidimehr (FIN ’11, ACCT ’13), Sophie DeWaal (FIN ’13), and Jwalita Veeramachaneni (BIT ’15), each received the Rising Alumni Award.

Congratulations, Class of 2022!

On May 12, under sunny blue skies, the Pamplin College of Business conferred over 1,000 bachelor's degrees during its two undergraduate commencement ceremonies. Dean Robert Sumichrast presided over the program, marking his final commencement ceremony before his upcoming retirement. Keynote speakers included Haseb Alim, 2022 Outstanding Senior, and Pamplin alumni Starlette Johnson and Chris Shean.

    Virginia Tech students win ‘Rumble in Rocktown’ , article

    Although the venue was Harrisonburg rather than Zaire, and the sport was a sales competition instead of boxing, when the dust finally settled, a team of Virginia Tech students stood victorious over their fallen opponent much like Ali stood over Foreman in 1974.
