Meet Advising Team

Pamplin academic advisors challenge students to actively explore opportunities, empower them to develop autonomy in making informed academic decisions, and equip them with tools and knowledge to design college experiences that fit their educational, professional, and personal goals. You can find our Advising Syllabus here.

It is your advisor’s goal that your advising experiences are as accessible and inclusive as possible. We invite you to share any information about yourself that you believe your advisor should know in order to better support you. Such information might include your lived name and pronouns, a significant life experience, or any accommodations you have or may need.

Academic advisors assist students in the following ways

  • Academic planning
  • Declaring or changing majors and minors
  • Withdrawing from or dropping courses
  • Reviewing graduation requirements and Degree Audit Reports (DARS)
  • Referring students to support services such as career services, international programs, tutoring, counseling, services for students with disabilities, and many more
