The Pamplin College of Business’ DEIB Around the World study abroad program recently concluded its annual journey to Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, achieving a milestone in the personal and professional growth of the 20 undergraduate students selected to participate.

The Pamplin College of Business Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) held its first-ever Global Etiquette Dinner on October 18, 2023, at the Inn at Virginia Tech. This celebratory week is not one to go unnoticed, for the Pamplin College of Business recently welcomed Saonee Sarker as the Richard E. Sorensen Dean in the Pamplin College of Business. Sarker succeeded Roberta “Robin” Russell, who had served as interim dean from July 2022 to August 2023.

The Pamplin College of Business Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) has published the second edition of its Impact Report, highlighting Pamplin’s DEIB efforts and outcomes in the 2022–2023 academic year. The 10-day residential program introduced 27 rising high school seniors – many from underrepresented and underserved communities – to the dynamic world of business and business careers, aligning with the second goal of Pamplin’s Implementation Plan for Strategic Initiative 5.6, Build a Model Inclusive Community: to achieve representational diversity in Pamplin.

Beginning Thursday, July 6, the Pamplin College of Business Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) will host a group of 27 high school students for the second annual Pamplin’s Inspiring Possibilities (PIP) Academy. The academy will kick off with a dinner featuring keynote speaker and guest of honor Randy Lucas ’91, M.S. ’92.

In partnership with the Global Education Office and the Steger Center for International Scholarship located in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland, 26 diverse undergraduate students set off for a 10-day journey through Europe.

Beginning May 15, the Steger Center for International Scholarship will host more than two dozen underrepresented and underserved undergraduate students for the inaugural DEIB Around the World, sponsored by the Pamplin College of Business Office for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). DEIB Around the World is an international experiential learning program in partnership with the Steger Center in Riva San Vitale, Switzerland.
