Matt Arden, the Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director at Screenvision, has accepted an invitation to join the Pamplin College of Business MIMB. He is a three time Emmy Award winner with experience in the sports and entertainment industry, being previously employed for companies like TNT, Turner Sports, and Maggie Vision Productions. Arden has also acted as the Executive Director for Shoot Film Not Guns, a non-profit founded by him and his wife in Atlanta.
Arden graduated from Virginia Tech in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Professional Writing and American History. During his time at Tech, Arden helped to launch hokiesports.com, the official site of the Virginia Tech Hokies, and worked as its first Producer and Reporter after graduating.
Arden currently works for Screenvision, a cinema advertising and film distribution company founded in 1990 and headquartered in New York City. The company controls an extensive cinema advertising network across the United States and offers “on-screen advertising, in-lobby promotions, and integrated marketing programs” for 2,200+ theater locations and over 14,000 screens, which covers 94% of U.S. DMAs.
The MIMB was established in the fall of 2010 and exists to “support the efforts of the Pamplin College of Business Marketing Department to improve and enhance the students’ marketing and sales education experience at Virginia Tech.” The MIMB is currently composed of 14 members, each bringing their own unique business and industry experience. Under the guidance of the current Chair, Jenn Hoker, and Faculty Representative, Donna Wertalik, the Board meets biannually to discuss improvements towards the Marketing Department and recent trends in the marketing field. The next meeting is scheduled for April 22, 2016 and will be hosted at the Coca-Cola Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
