Jason Kies

Senior Advisor

Jason is a Global Lead Partner in KPMG’s Private Equity practice and has experience in auditing and advising large, diversified, multinational institutions in industries including Private Equity, Insurance, Retail, and Manufacturing. In addition, Jason is proficient in SEC Independence rules, serving as the PE Practice Independence Leader and liaison to the Firm’s Independence Department.  He has spent his whole career at KPMG and has served in offices located in Virginia, Switzerland, Malta, and New York. Attending VT’s Pamplin College of Business, he graduated in 2002 with a BS in Accounting and also received his Masters in Accounting with a concentration in Financial Services in 2003. Jason is an avid Jimmy Buffett fan and has a passion for exploring the world, having already visited 67 countries. Other hobbies and interests include history, college football, Swiss watches, international relations, foreign policy, languages, and reading (especially historical fiction).  Lastly, Jason supports various charitable organizations and is a former governing board member of Reach The World, a charitable organization located in New York.   He also serves as a Board member of the Pamplin Advisory Council, the main advisory board of the Pamplin College of Business, and is Co-chair of the Alumni Engagement Committee.  Jason also serves as a member of the Pamplin Accounting Department Board and is a past leadership team member of the Pamplin Society.
