Haines’ research interests are focused on understanding the skills and strategies of experienced or expert entrepreneurs and how they can be used to teach novice entrepreneurs. He is currently working on a Ph.D. at Virginia Tech.

He was formerly associate director of Virginia Tech’s Apex Center for Entrepreneurs, working with student startup founders and helping instructors across campus to bring entrepreneurship into their classrooms.

Haines has taught entrepreneurship at universities and accelerators and has worked in leadership roles in businesses ranging from startups to corporate giants such as Amazon and American Express. His passions revolve around helping others through education and entrepreneurship to improve their own lives and solve societal problems in sustainable and profitable ways.
