Virginia Tech named a top-20 public university in latest U.S. News & World Report 2024 Best Colleges report , articleThe U.S. News & World Report 2023-24 Best Colleges rankings came out today, and Virginia Tech was ranked as one of the top public universities nationally. The university also made a big jump in the social mobility category, which factors in the graduation rates of economically disadvantaged students, and received high marks in the areas of engineering and computer science.

Pamplin’s Center for Business Analytics hosts second-annual Day for Data symposium
On Friday, Sept. 8, the second-annual Day for Data symposium gathered industry leaders and academia together for a practical exploration of business analytics.
The symposium featured opening remarks by Dean Sarker, followed by a keynote address from Andrew Allwine, senior director of data optimization for Norfolk Southern. During the session, Allwine shared his strategies for aggregating and translating complex datasets into actionable insights and tangible ROI for organizational decision-makers.
