LaRonda Scott

LaRonda Schenck Scott has dedicated her career to serving others. From adjudicated youth and healthy babies to eliminating drunk driving and empowering Black workers - her passion has been about uplifting and supporting others.

A graduate of UNC Charlotte with a degree in Criminal Justice, LaRonda quickly jumped into working with adjudicated youth and their families. After seeing the juvenile detention center become a revolving door for many youth, she began working to reduce recidivism rates by strengthening the youth’s village and creating an environment that was conducive to positive choices.

A change in her husband’s career moved the family to South Carolina which led to Ms. Scott beginning a career in fundraising and nonprofit management. She’s served national nonprofits, March of Dimes and Mother’s Against Drunk Driving, in various leadership roles raising millions of dollars in mission funds, increasing organizational impact and visibility, and cultivating high impact volunteers.

Today, she pours her knowledge and expertise into raising critical funds to support the mission of the National Black Worker Center (NBWC) - a national organization uniting Black workers (employed, underemployed and unemployed) around the country to mobilize and provide resources needed to take on systems of oppression. NBWC is the go-to source for insight into the discrimination that Black workers face and the solutions sought to end anti-Blackness in the workplace.

LaRonda has been married to her amazing husband, Hasan, for 23 years. She is the proud mom of Kaleb, 19, and Kadin, 15. She and her family reside in North Carolina.
