Kiyah Duffey

Kiyah Duffey is the co-founder and CEO at Kizingo, a company whose mission is to design mealtime products that promote healthy eating for children and families. Kizingo’s award-winning flagship product is a uniquely curved toddler spoon which easily fits into a toddler's hand and work with the way they hold utensils to make eating less frustrating and more successful. Their products have won numerous national and international design awards and are sold in more than two dozen countries around the world. Kiyah is a recovering academic, where her research focused on understanding the determinants of dietary intake and the long-term associations between dietary intake patterns, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome. Her academic research has influenced various local and state policies and been featured in Oprah Magazine, Men’s Health Magazine, USA Today, and the BBC News and on NPR’s Morning Edition, Good Morning America, and the NBC Nightly News. Kiyah holds a doctoral degree in nutritional epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and neuroscience from Bowdoin College. She lives in Blacksburg with her husband and three children.
