Organizational and Operational Assessment Coming to Pamplin
- In order to gain the benefits of an independent perspective, Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business is engaging an external partner to conduct a comprehensive review.
- The review is intended to provide an objective look at the College’s strengths and weaknesses, and will allow the college to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of the College of Business

Pamplin Welcomes New International Students to Campus
On August 26th, 2023, Pamplin International Programs kicked off the new academic year by hosting its annual International Student Welcome Reception at Hahn Horticulture Garden. We were joined by international students, Global Mentors, faculty, and staff. Students and faculty engaged in productive conversations, took pictures, and enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres. Registration is now open for 2023 Business Practices Webinar. Offered virtually, this fall’s program will be split into six sessions across three days: Oct. 2, Oct. 11 and Oct. 16. Reminder: Staff Performance Evaluations are due soon. The performance management process is a partnership between the supervisor and the employee. As part of this partnership, performance evaluations are necessary and beneficial, providing supervisors an opportunity to give employees feedback on job performance. Quinton J. Nottingham Ph.D. Congratulations on the award for research. Quinton has received the Jeffress Trust Award for the Program in Research to Advance Health Equity. The purpose of the Medical-Legal Partnership (MLP) research project is to enhance and build cross-collaboration across hospitals, legal service agencies, academic institutions, and community-based organizations to examine the root causes and barriers to health equity experienced by low-income patients. Nadia A. Rogers, Robert M. Brown Faculty Fellow in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems of the Pamplin College of Business, has been reappointed to the Virginia Board of Accountancy by Gov. Glenn Youngkin. Article can be found Here

Town Hall with the provost about the COACHE faculty satisfaction survey results on October 5th. Virginia Tech faculty participated this spring in the 2023 COACHE survey, run by the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education. The survey measures faculty perceptions of the university, the workplace, the community, and their jobs. More information Here

Sept 22nd: What does your Business Service Center do and who does it support?
- The Pamplin Business Services Center (BSC) operates under the Associate Dean for Administration and provides financial and human resource support to all non-academic areas managed by the Dean. The BSC also acts as a resource for administrative issues handled by Pamplin academic areas including the undergraduate and graduate programs. The goal of the BSC is to provide high-quality customer service, while maintaining compliance with university, state, and federal regulations.
