A Note from Desk of Dean Sarker

Hello Hokies, welcome back! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break with your loved ones and took the time to recharge and refocus.

XDU and VT join hands in effort to foster big data management talents.

XDU has launched a joint education program on big data management and application with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology, in partnership with Virginia Tech.

Based on the teaching and research resources of both universities — in such sectors as business information technology as well as innovation and entrepreneurship management — the four-year program adopts a "3+1" and dual-degree training model. After completing the first three years of study at XDU, eligible students can transfer to VT to complete their bachelor's degree.

The program highlights the big data industry's systematic management concept, data quantification, analysis capabilities, comprehensive application skills, intelligent business decision-making, data security management, innovation, and entrepreneurship capabilities. Following the tragedy that took the lives of two Blacksburg High School students, Pamplin would like to highlight these services below. Although the immediate aftermath of the tragedy has passed, the impacts may linger. Let's be a beacon of hope and compassion, just as Blacksburg High School has been for us. Together, we will navigate this difficult time, leaning on the strength and resilience that defines our community.

Pamplin International Programs is looking for co-collaborators for our French partner, IMT. Please read details below and feel free to contact our partner or Dr. Clevenger.

We are  (IMT, France) reaching out to our esteemed partners to invite collaboration for a one-hour hybrid session on a topic related to common well-being, technologies, and their impact.  Our professor, Jerzy, is enthusiastic about leading a conference discussing the impact of technologies on workplace communication. His proposed topic delves into the paradoxes wherein remote work facilitates global communication yet demands enhanced communication skills for fostering strong relationships.  We believe in co-constructing these sessions. If any of your faculty members are interested in a similar session or have alternative ideas to explore, we're open to collaboration. The sessions, called "Les Mardis du Campus," are scheduled exclusively on Tuesdays from 5:45 to 7 pm.   Your participation and contributions would greatly enrich our initiative, fostering insightful discussions and learning opportunities. Please let us know if you or any faculty members from your institution would be interested or have ideas to contribute. We're excited about the prospect of collaborating and creating engaging sessions together.
