Barbara A. Townley
Responsibilities
Ms. Townley is one of our three, front-line staff that is responsible for providing advising support to the undergraduate business students. Ms. Townley processes substitutions for the major, minor, and college requirements in the Pamplin College of Business. She assists students on a daily basis by answering their questions regarding academic transcripts, DARS, authorization to take courses elsewhere, and works closely with the Directors of Advising with Policy 91. She also oversees the Change of Major application process in the Pamplin College of Business and is responsible for the management of the Freshman and Transfer Merit Scholarship Program. She provides back-up for processing internal change majors, internal change minors, force-adds, course withdrawals, and overloads.
Biography
Ms. Townley, who prefers to be called Barbara, is a Giles County native. After graduating from Giles High School, she attended New River Community College. Barbara has been employed at Virginia Tech for 27 years. Barbara considers shopping and reading to be her favorite hobbies. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and close friends, watching I Love Lucy re-runs and college football. Barbara currently resides in Ripplemead, Virginia.
