Director of Undergraduate Analytics and Student Engagement

Biography

Emily McCorkle is a double Hokie alumna with a BS in Business, Marketing and a MS in Business Administration with a concentration in Business Analytics from the Pamplin College of Business. She also holds a Graduate Certificate of Higher Education Administration from Virginia Tech.

Emily’s career started in technical staffing and recruiting and has over ten years of direct recruitment and strategic outreach experience. Since 2012, she held various pivotal roles, fostering retention, recruitment, diversity, and career advancement initiatives. Her career is deeply rooted in Pamplin where she currently serves as the Director of Undergraduate Analytics & Student Engagement.

In her current role she supports data-driven initiatives to assess and enhance the undergraduate student experience, focuses on reporting and identifying trends in student performance, retention, and success, as well as developing dashboards and reports to guide strategic decision-making and targeted interventions. In addition to undergraduate analytics, Emily supports student leadership and engagement through close work with the Deans Advisory Board of Students (DABS), the PUMP Mentoring Program and Pamplin Mentoring Initiative, the Student Org Coalition, and other key initiatives around scholarships and alumni engagement. With a background in business and a strong foundation in analytics, Emily brings expertise in technology, communication, and cross-functional collaboration to foster student and young alumni development and success.

Emily is originally from the Northern-VA-DC Metro area and now lives in Roanoke with her husband and four children. She co-founded and serves as the Director of Operations for Huddle Up Moms, a local non-profit empowering woman through education, meaningful connection, and community support. She is extremely passionate about being a bridge and connector for people, and being of service to others in the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I may serve). Her ultimate goal is to make a strong impact and difference in at least one person (one starfish) at a time.
